I couldn’t put this book down. It was so interesting. The history provided along with the very personal story took you back to the times of Nazi Germany and the incredible struggles and pain that so many people endured. This is the story of one family told from the perspective of Melitta. Melitta was a baby when the horror occurred; so she retells the stories told to her when she was old enough to understand and remember. Her mother did not tell her one story until she was in her teens for fear of traumatizing her; namely, that she was taken from her mother’s arms immediately after birth by the Nazis. Read about the miraculous reunion of Melitta with her family.
